Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Launch Support Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This pivotal role involves coordinating and supporting the introduction of new manufacturing processes and products into our production facilities. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, and automation to ensure seamless product launches, optimize manufacturing workflows, and uphold quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment.
ENGINEERING DEGREE REQUIRED 2-4 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency. Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications. Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays. Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
Skills:
Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability. Team player and detail oriented. Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, computer-generated reports, bills of materials, part specifications, and engineering codes. Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
  • Working/intermediate-level ability to navigate Teamcenter, Siemens NX, AM, or similar engineering systems. Expert-level design or coding experience is not required, as the primary need is the ability to read, interpret, and navigate information within these systems.
  • Ability to understand relationships between engineering codes, vehicle parts, and specifications and identify the appropriate match or application.
- The two suppliers will support assemblies and large commodities delivered into the plant, including headliners, suspension components, and engine dress assemblies . This position will help coordinate supplier launch activities and ensure information is effectively communicated to support build readiness. - The broader team consists of approximately five people, but this position will work closely alongside one other manager. This position will not have direct people-management or supervisory responsibilities. T - This role will support two VAA suppliers located within a few miles of Orion Assembly, providing launch oversight, coordination, and day-to-day support as the suppliers prepare assemblies for vehicle builds at the plant. The individual will serve as a key information resource and liaison for the suppliers, helping them access the tools, data, and information they need, pull relevant information, and understand upcoming changes to support the launch. The role is not responsible for designing or creating the conveyance system .
Education/Experience:

$38.00 - $43.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
