Job Summary The IT Support Specialist will be the primary in-house resource for all technology-related needs within the company. This individual will provide hands-on support to staff, ensure systems and infrastructure run smoothly, and coordinate with the company's Managed Services Provider (MSP) for escalations, projects, and strategic IT initiatives. The role requires a blend of technical troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and user support to keep operations efficient, secure, and aligned with business goals. Key Responsibilities End-User Support
  • Provide first-line support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripheral equipment.
  • Manage helpdesk tickets and ensure timely resolution.
  • Onboard and offboard employees (hardware setup, software access, account provisioning, etc.).
  • Train staff on basic IT tools, best practices, and security awareness. Systems Administration
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and other core systems.
  • Monitor and maintain the company's network, servers, and cloud-based applications.
  • Ensure reliable backups and recovery processes. Vendor & MSP Coordination Page 2 of 3
  • Act as the primary liaison with the Managed Services Provider for escalated support, cybersecurity, and system upgrades.
  • Coordinate hardware/software purchases and manage vendor relationships.
  • Assist in IT project implementation (ERP upgrades, cloud migrations, CAD/engineering software deployment, etc.). Security & Compliance
  • Monitor antivirus, patch management, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Work with the MSP to maintain compliance with industry and customer requirements.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning. Asset & License Management
  • Maintain inventory of IT assets (laptops, servers, software licenses).
  • Oversee lifecycle management (procurement, deployment, retirement). Job Requirements Required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of IT support or systems administration experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Windows OS, and standard office software.
  • Experience with Active Directory, networking fundamentals, and backup solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and customer service orientation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external service providers.
  • Proactive approach to anticipating IT needs and recommending process or system improvements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tickets and projects simultaneously.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR due to access to export-controlled technical data. Preferred
  • Experience working with or alongside a Managed Services Provider.
  • Familiarity with engineering or manufacturing environments (CAD software, PDM systems, ERP systems).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, ITIL, etc.). Benefits of Employment
