Job Summary Incumbents provide assistance to community, students, and faculty in various computer lab(s). Essential Functions Include but not limited to the following: Opening/closing and securing computer lab area(s) during operating hours Perform simple hardware and peripheral troubleshooting Contact MCC -IT Helpdesk to request assistance, maintenance or troubleshooting of hardware (computer, printer etc.) and/or software. Provide responsive customer service and maintain professionalism when assisting and facilitating learning for end users Communicate clearly and effectively with end users Documenting and forwarding questions and/or concerns to the appropriate parties Assist with program communication pieces, as needed Maintain computer lab e-mails, mail distribution and printer/copier machine(s) (e.g. fi ll paper trays, clear paper jams, replenish toner, etc.) Assist in maintaining the inventory of all assigned equipment, supplies, software, and hardware Maintain a clean (food/drink-free) quiet work area Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in computer-related field One (1) year directly related work experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of technology troubleshooting techniques Knowledge of customer service principles Knowledge of applicable hardware, software, media, telecommunications, and/or related equipment Knowledge of windows operating systems Skilled in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing hardware, software, peripheral devices, and/or other related equipment problems • Skilled in providing customer service Skilled in using a computer and related software applications Skilled in training users on applicable hardware, software, peripheral devices, and/or other related equipment Skilled in utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically requires feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
