Duties Help Serves as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Informion Technology (LIT) Specialist (SASMO) and Systems Administror on all Comb Service Support (CSS) Automed Logistics Systems and Programs. Exercises knowledge and oversight for all mters pertaining to the fielding and operion of Automed Logistics System and Programs. Utilizes an extensive knowledge of logistics programs/operions and a clear understanding of automed systems to manage projects and programs for systems integrion of CSS automion. Identifies funding requirements to support SASMO operions, justifies and submits budget requirements for Ste opering budget, and executes funds received. Is the technical expert within the ste/territory responsible for providing technical and functional guidance for serviced Automed Logistics Systems and Programs. Serves as project leader/supervisor responsible for developing, assigning, and coordining duties and projects for LIT systems administrors. Serves as the senior LIT systems administror responsible for planning, coordining, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting to support customer needs. Reviews SASMO Standard Opering Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they are current (i.e., help desk, repair operions, etc.). Evalues trouble tickets escaled from the help desk, setting priorities on a weekly and monthly basis. Coordines automion initiives with Ste G6 and G3 elements. Operes as the Quality Control Specialist for the Quality Control Program and Quality Control Plan. Oversees a variety of studies, analyses, and reports regarding the integrity of all LIT systems. Conducts quality inspections, customer feedback, and continuous improvement initiives associed with the Quality Control Plan. Perform Software conversion, hardware fielding and continuous support. Researches and resolves hardware, software, and applicions program problems by troubleshooting and working with user, NGB support agencies, and/or manufacturer/vendors/representives as required. Develops/implements programs to ensure software and vulnerabilities updes are applied in proper order. Coordines and communices with Department of the Army (DA), Nional Guard Bureau (NGB), and Program Executive Office/Program Manager, regarding CSS operions and automed systems support, problem resolution, software upgrades and change packages. Assists functional users in automed CSS systems management and operion. Provides advisory services for functional users. Provides requested informion ghered through the analysis of available documention such as functional user manuals, regulions, operions manuals, and technical support manuals. Provides assistance to functional users in the identificion of computer problems, troubleshooting diagnostics and resolution of technical problems identified in trouble tickets and initial setup of serviced automed logistics informion system computers to include loading software, configuring modem and network card(s), assigning Internet Protocol (IP) addresses with correct subnet, connectivity to the network as required, coordining with other support personnel and completing technical inspections. Provide hands on technical support to all Ste/Territory unit Logistics Automion Systems in order to provide uninterrupted operion and support. Resolves issues and problems concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of automed logistical systems administrive and systemic work operions. Utilizes knowledge of logistics management principles, policies, and procedures to implement, establish, and execute operional plans and policies for Automed Logistics Systems. Analyzes requirements, manages, and coordines automed logistics informion system hardware and peripherals pertaining to the receipt, distribution, installion, and life cycle management of devices th are directed to be managed unit/ste level. Installs, tests, and evalues automed logistics informion system hardware. Manages the Ste/Territory CSS automion hardware tactical computer exchange (TCX) (aka equipment flo) program and ensures accountability of exchanges. Performs organizional and direct support level automed logistics informion system hardware maintenance as required. Determines systemic problems during maintenance of hardware or in the applicion of software and inities corrective action as needed. Serves as the point of contact for the Sustainment Automion Support Management Office (SASMO) Work Order Desk. Provides telephone coverage for users requesting assistance with hardware/software via a help desk, resolve problems, escales complex issues to enterprise systems or to a technical specialist/contractor supplied support services; as well as prepares and accomplishes all workorder work order routing. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
This is an excepted service position th requires membership in the employing ste's Nional Guard. Selectee required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigion. May be required to successfully complete a probionary period. Participion in direct deposit is mandory. Must have one of the following: A) 1 year of experience, educion, or training which is equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) in receiving, maintaining, and issuing da storage media for computer operions. Experience in scheduling the use of computer time for program processing. Experience collecting and sequentially staging input media with associed program instructions for processing. Experience in least one programming language. Transling detailed logical steps developed by others into language codes th computers accept where this required understanding of procedures and limitions approprie to use of a programming language. Experience interviewing subject-mter personnel to get facts regarding work processes and synthesizing the resulting da into charts showing informion flow. Experience in analysis of the interrelionship of pertinent components of the system. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment. Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency.
