TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Funding Source Functions and Responsibilities Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology or designee, the Technical Support Specialist supports the College's IT operations, infrastructure, ERP systems, software applications, and network services; assists with system administration, user account management, access control, technology deployments, system updates, cybersecurity initiatives, data backup and recovery processes, and IT service requests; maintains technology inventory and documentation; supports enterprise applications and operational technology projects; and helps ensure the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of the College's technology environment and daily IT operations. This position offers a competitive starting salary of $38,000 - $50,000, along with a comprehensive college benefits package.

Supervisory Role The Technical Support Specialist will receive oral and written instructions from the Director of Information Technology or designee. The Tech Specialist may supervise support Staff and student workers. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Support the daily operation, maintenance, and reliability of the College's technology infrastructure, enterprise systems, and business applications. 2. Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade computer hardware, software, operating systems, and related technology resources. 3. Provide technical support and assistance to faculty, staff, and students regarding technology services, equipment, and applications. 4. Monitor system performance, availability, and operational processes to ensure efficient and reliable delivery of technology services. 5. Develop, maintain, and support automated processes, scripts, workflows, and scheduled tasks to improve operational efficiency and service delivery. 6. Generate, maintain, and distribute routine, special, and ad hoc reports, data extracts, and operational metrics to support departmental and institutional decision-making. 7. Maintain technology inventories, system logs, operational documentation, and technical procedures. 8. Assist with the implementation, testing, maintenance, and support of enterprise applications, technology projects, upgrades, and system enhancements. 9. Implement and support security controls, user access management, and data protection practices to safeguard institutional information and technology resources. 10. Collaborate with College departments, vendors, and technology partners to support operational needs, reporting requirements, and process improvement initiatives. 11. Maintain strict confidentiality of student, employee, financial, and institutional information in accordance with college policies and applicable regulations. 12. Prepare routine special and ancillary reports as required. 13. Perform other related duties as required. Bend, twist, climb, push, pull, and lift. Additional Requirements Minimum Qualifications Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities 1. Associate's degree. 2. Demonstrated experience in computer repair, troubleshooting, networking, and IT operations support. 3. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to provide technical assistance to users at all levels. 4. Must be proficient in oral and written communications. 5. Must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment Education Requirements Associate's Degree Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver's license, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities 1. Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 2. Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise applications, technology operations, data management, reporting, and business process automation 3. Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, enterprise email systems, cloud services, and networked computing environments. 4. Experience developing or maintaining reports, automated workflows, scripts, queries, or technology-related operational processes. 5. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing technology and business requirements. 6. Self-motivated with strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
