IT Clinical Informatics Specialist Location:
Artesia, NM Employment Type:
Full-Time, Non-Exempt, On-site About the Role Insight Global is seeking an experienced IT Clinical Informatics Specialist to serve as the key liaison between clinical operations and Information Technology. This role supports both hospital and outpatient clinic environments by optimizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, improving clinical workflows, educating end users, and helping drive technology solutions that enhance patient care, safety, and operational efficiency. What You'll Do Partner with providers, nursing staff, and operational leaders to optimize clinical workflows and EHR utilization. Analyze current processes and recommend technology improvements that support best practices and patient outcomes. Provide Tier 2/3 support for EHR and clinical applications across hospital and clinic settings. Assist with system configuration, testing, upgrades, implementations, and change management activities. Develop and deliver EHR training programs for providers, clinicians, and support staff. Create training materials, tip sheets, workflow documentation, and user guides. Provide go-live support, troubleshooting, and ongoing education to improve user adoption and efficiency. Support reporting, data validation, quality initiatives, patient safety programs, and regulatory requirements. Promote HIPAA compliance, cybersecurity awareness, and appropriate system access controls. Collaborate with clinical teams, leadership, vendors, and IT staff on continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Nursing, Information Technology, Education, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. 3-5 years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical informatics, EHR support, clinical systems administration, or EHR education. Experience supporting EHR users in hospital, ambulatory, or multi-clinic environments. Strong understanding of inpatient and outpatient clinical workflows. Excellent communication, training, presentation, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Clinical background such as RN, LPN, MA, or similar healthcare experience. Enterprise EHR experience and/or EHR certification. Experience in rural healthcare or multi-site healthcare organizations. Experience supporting quality improvement, accreditation, regulatory compliance, or clinical education initiatives. Instructional design or adult learning experience.
