Red Barn Technology Group is looking for a motivated IT Support Technician to join our growing Managed IT Services team. As an IT Support Technician, you will be the frontline problem solver for our business customers, providing both remote and onsite technical support. You'll work with computers, networks, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, and cloud technologies while gaining hands-on experience with a wide variety of business IT environments. No two days are the same. One day you may be troubleshooting a computer issue, the next installing new hardware, assisting with a Microsoft 365 deployment, or helping a customer resolve a network problem. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Binghamton, NY. Technicians work from our office and travel to customer locations as needed. While providing remote support to customers is part of the job, this is not a remote or hybrid position. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computer hardware and software Troubleshoot Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and common business applications Assist with network, wireless, VPN, printer, and internet connectivity issues Create, modify, and manage user accounts and permissions in Microsoft 365 and Active Directory Provide both remote and onsite technical support for business customers Manage and update service tickets by documenting issues, resolutions, and follow-up actions Track customer requests, contract hours, mileage, and inventory Assist with customer invoicing and preparing sales quotations Maintain professional, courteous, and proactive communication with customers throughout the support process Perform other related duties as assigned Required Qualifications Experience troubleshooting Windows computers, hardware, software, and common business applications Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and internet connectivity Experience with Microsoft 365 / Office 365 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting Excellent communication and customer service skills Takes ownership of problems and follows them through to resolution while keeping customers informed Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Strong organizational and documentation skills Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Willingness to travel to customer locations throughout the Southern Tier and surrounding areas Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, or other industry certifications Experience supporting iOS and Android mobile devices Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, or backup solutions Previous experience in an IT support or Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment Why Join Red Barn Technology Group?
