Technical Support & Repairs Specialist Reports to: VP of Sales and Engineering
JOB SUMMARY
The Technical Support & Repairs Specialist is responsible for supporting the company's repair business, coordinating field service activities, developing technical documentation, and serving as a primary technical liaison between customers, sales, engineering, and operations. This position supports commercial and U.S. Navy customers by ensuring high-quality repairs, accurate technical documentation, efficient project execution and exceptional customer service. This role requires occasional travel to customer sites to support warranty repairs, equipment inspections, technical troubleshooting and field service activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Repair Business Support Manage repair projects from quotation through shipment and invoicing. Serve as a primary point of contact for repair customers. Develop repair scopes of work and coordinate repair activities with operations and engineering teams. Monitor project schedules, costs, and progress. Identify opportunities for pump upgrades, modernization, and additional service offerings. Ensure customer requirements are met while maintaining company quality standards. Field Service Support Coordinate and support field service activities, including inspections, troubleshooting, equipment assessments, startup support, and warranty repairs. Work directly with customers to resolve operational and maintenance issues. Develop relationships with qualified service providers and repair partners. Support customer efforts to minimize downtime through effective repair planning and execution. Travel as required to customer sites to support warranty repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and technical service activities. Technical Documentation Develop, maintain, and revise service manuals, repair manuals, technical procedures, and work instructions. Create technical illustrations, exploded views, parts identification guides, and maintenance documentation. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness. Support the standardization and continuous improvement of repair procedures and technical publications. Assist in the development of customer-facing technical resources and training materials. Manage controlled technical documentation in accordance with company and customer requirements. Technical Sales Support Provide technical support to the sales team for repair, replacement, upgrade, and service opportunities. Review customer requirements and provide technical recommendations. Assist in preparing quotations, proposals, and repair assessments. Participate in customer visits, technical reviews, and industry events as required. Identify opportunities to expand repair and service business within existing and new accounts. Repair Kit Program Support Develop and maintain repair kit offerings for commercial and government customers. Identify commonly replaced components and establish standardized repair kits. Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment activities. Support implementation and maintenance of Kanban and other inventory management systems. Work with purchasing and operations teams to ensure kit availability and accuracy. Production and Order Support Create and review production orders and work instructions. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and customer requirements. Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure successful project execution. Support process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Assist in resolving technical and production-related issues.
MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required Associate degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, and technical specifications. Experience supporting repair projects, service operations, or industrial equipment programs. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites in support of warranty repairs and field service activities. Preferred Experience with centrifugal pumps, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery. Experience creating technical manuals, service procedures, and repair documentation. Experience supporting U.S. Navy, defense, utility, or industrial customers. Proficiency with SolidWorks Composer for technical publications and illustrated documentation. Experience with SolidWorks CAD software. Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management processes. Project management experience.

Occasional travel to customer sites, shipyards, industrial facilities and vendor locations. May occasionally be required to enter production and repair areas and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Ability to lift and carry technical equipment, documentation and tools as required during field service activities.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
