Contract Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and service-oriented Desktop Support Technician to provide hands-on IT support for end users. In this role, you will be the frontline resource for keeping desktop systems, collaboration tools, and hardware running smoothly, helping scientists, researchers, and staff stay focused on their work. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and resolve technical issues across macOS and Windows 11 environments, including OS, application, performance, and connectivity concerns. Respond to service requests and incidents, document resolutions in the ticketing system, and escalate complex issues as appropriate. Manage onboarding for new employees, including account provisioning, password resets, and access troubleshooting. Support laptops, desktops, docking stations, monitors, printers, and peripherals. Configure and troubleshoot mobile devices (iOS and Android), including email setup and MDM enrollment. Ensure seamless meeting and event experiences across Zoom and video conferencing platforms. Maintain conference room technology, including cameras, microphones, displays, and collaboration systems. Partner with scientists and researchers to apply IT solutions to lab workflows and specialized use cases, including HPC and AI computing. Uphold data security and reliability standards in research environments. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience troubleshooting across macOS and Windows platforms. Experience supporting collaboration tools, AV systems, and mobile device management. Clear communicator with a strong customer service orientation. Able to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment. Team player who thrives in a collaborative IT support setting.
