Job Description

Business Operations Manager Job details Business Operations New York Full-time $141,649 USD - $0 USD What you will do You will manage Klarna's global payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery with a strong focus on the United States and North America. In this position, you will lead and develop payroll operations while driving continuous improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data quality across multiple jurisdictions. You will collaborate closely with Finance, People, and external providers to oversee end-to-end payroll processes, resolve complex payroll matters, and ensure compliance with US federal, state, and local tax regulations as well as SOX requirements. You will also support employee benefits administration and contribute to accurate financial reporting, labor cost management, and operational excellence across Klarna's global organization. Who you are
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll operations with a strong focus on the US and North America
  • Deep knowledge of US payroll regulations, including federal, state, and local tax compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, controls, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, labor cost reporting, and payroll-related financial processes
  • Experience working with SOX controls, audits, and compliance requirements
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills in written and spoken English Awesome to have
  • Experience working in a high-growth fintech, technology, or international organization
  • Familiarity with payroll automation tools and process optimization initiatives
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits
  • Background in finance, accounting, or HR operations
  • Experience managing European or global payroll operations
