Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and versatile IT Engineer to join our Managed Services Provider (MSP) team. This position combines advanced technical support, network infrastructure installation, and client relationship development. The ideal candidate is comfortable troubleshooting complex IT issues, installing and terminating network cabling, consulting with clients on technology solutions, and identifying opportunities to expand services. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to serve as a trusted technology advisor to our clients. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Services Provide remote and onsite technical support for business clients. Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, workstations, Microsoft 365, and cloud technologies. Manage and troubleshoot switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and VPN solutions. Monitor client environments and proactively address performance and security issues. Perform system upgrades, migrations, deployments, and project implementations. Document network configurations, procedures, and client environments. Network Cabling & Infrastructure Install, terminate, label, test, and certify Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic network cabling. Install network racks, patch panels, switches, access points, and related infrastructure. Route and secure low-voltage cabling in commercial environments. Troubleshoot structured cabling and connectivity issues. Maintain organized and professional wiring standards. Client Consulting & Sales Build strong relationships with existing clients through exceptional service. Identify opportunities for additional services, security improvements, hardware refreshes, and technology upgrades. Assist with creating proposals, scopes of work, and technology recommendations. Participate in client meetings and business reviews. Work with management to generate new business opportunities and referrals. Translate technical concepts into business benefits for clients. Required Qualifications 3+ years of IT support, systems administration, or MSP experience. Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and networking technologies. Knowledge of firewalls, switches, wireless networking, and VPNs. Experience installing and terminating Ethernet network cabling. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Excellent customer service and communication abilities. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical work including climbing ladders and working in ceilings. Preferred Qualifications MSP experience strongly preferred. Experience with ConnectWise, ScreenConnect, Datto, SentinelOne, or similar MSP tools. CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications. Experience with VoIP systems and structured cabling standards. Sales, account management, or technology consulting experience. Low-voltage cabling certifications.
