GIS Computer Technician Reading Area Water Authority Reading, PA Job Details Full-time $33.68 - $34.69 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits 457(b) Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications CAD software Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Mapping using GIS Data entry GIS software Full Job Description The Reading Area Water Authority anticipates the need for a fulltime GIS Computer Technician. Duties would included but are not limited to: Creation and updating GIS system. Creation and updating of the distribution system using and CAD. Reading plans and blueprints, and field locating of utilities using GPS. Ability to draw, interpret and understand field notes. Schedule/perform flow testing for public, contractors and/or developers. Perform tasks for the "Partnership for Safe Water" and data entry for Excel system document. Periodically fill in for Engineering Aid III for PA One Call utility location. Communicating with contractors, or other utility companies. Compete PA Highway Occupancy Permit Applications, EPC logs, and any necessary drawings required. Communicate directly with PA Highway officials. Provide Distribution system CAD sheets and GIS maps for fellow employees and contractors by request. Responsible for collecting costs of office technical equipment. Maintain electronic records of work performed in the Distribution System in GIS system. Utilize GPS unit to collect field assets for GIS system as needed. Maintaining the correlation of work performed in the field and record drawings. Excellent Organizational and People skills are required. Knowledge of AutoCad R21 or higher, ESRI ArcGIS and GPS experience, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years AutoCad and 2 years ArcGIS preferred. Excellent benefit package that includes Healthcare, paid vacation, Holidays, 457B Retirement package, sick time.

$33.68 - $34.69 per hour
