The Position alphaMountain is looking for a versatile, highly analytical Technical Support Lead & Data Quality . This is a unique hybrid role designed for a skilled data problem-solver who enjoys direct customer interaction, technical leadership, pre-sales evaluation, and quality engineering. In this full-time role, you will take primary responsibility for handling customer support cases and data disputes while supervising, hiring, and training a small team of 1-2 Data Analyst Interns. Because incoming support volume alone does not demand a full-time workload, you will play a critical dual role: evaluating data from prospective customer testing trials to ensure tests are executed correctly and interpreting the findings, as well as running rigorous QA on data pipeline changes and developer code releases. Support & Team Leadership ~30% Direct support case resolution, data dispute management, intern hiring, training, and operational oversight. Pre-Sales Customer Data Analysis ~10% Evaluating prospect test/trial data, verifying testing accuracy, interpreting categorization/risk results, and articulating value to prospective clients. Data Quality & Developer QA ~60% Testing engine releases, data schema updates, and developer code; translating data anomalies into actionable developer tickets.
Detailed Role Breakdown Customer Support & Dispute Leadership:
Serve as the main point of contact and final escalation layer for customer support cases and user-submitted data disputes. Ensure high customer satisfaction and rapid response times.
Intern Hiring, Training & Supervision:
Actively participate in interviewing, selecting, and hiring 1-2 Data Analyst Interns. Deliver hands-on onboarding, establish workflows, review daily output, and mentor interns in data validation best practices.
Support Case Automation:
Use AI and appropriate tools to automate and streamline support processes, including responses and escalations.
Pre-Sales Testing & POC Evaluation:
Partner with sales and technical teams during customer evaluations. Analyze prospective clients' web traffic and trial dataset queries to verify that tests were conducted under proper conditions, validate detection coverage, and explain evaluation outcomes clearly to prospective customers. Translate customer requests into technical requirements for development team.
Developer Code & Data Pipeline QA:
Conduct rigorous pre-release quality assurance on developer code, data engine modifications, and categorization algorithms. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and stability prior to production rollout.
Cross-Functional Feedback Loop:
Identify systemic data quality patterns or engine anomalies and translate technical findings into structured requirements or bug reports for the software engineering team. Qualifications & Requirements What You Bring (Required) 2-3+
Years of Experience:
Track record in technical customer support, data quality operations, or technical data analysis.
SQL Proficiency:
Solid expertise querying relational databases (SQL) to inspect data schemas, run analytical queries, join datasets, and validate results.
Web Stack & Protocol Understanding:
Technical understanding of URLs, domain structures, IP routing, DNS, and
HTTP/HTTPS
web protocols.
Customer & Team Communication:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data findings clearly to customers, leadership, and developers.
Leadership Aptitude:
Capability and desire to recruit, hire, onboard, and mentor junior team members/interns.
Problem-Solving Mindset:
High attention to detail with an intrinsic drive to investigate root causes in complex datasets. What We Hope You Have (Preferred)

Experience using Python, JavaScript, or Bash for data manipulation or routine task automation.
Cybersecurity & Threat Intelligence Knowledge:
Familiarity with web threat categories, domain risk scoring, malware/phishing indicators, or API test environments (e.g., Postman, cURL).
Prior Leadership Experience:
