Open Until Filled Job Description Posting Text USD is seeking an IT Engineer to provide support to install, program, test, and maintain infrastructure systems at the University of South Dakota. The successful candidate will support hardware and software needs for the campus, work with vendors to specify hardware and software solutions and recommend enhancements to campus infrastructure and resources. This position includes on-call responsibilities. This is a 100% full time position, on campus in Vermillion, SD. Duties include working with a variety of network services, security systems, email services, directory services, configuration management products, storage systems, virtualization products, cloud services, load balancing systems, and web systems.
Responsible for:
Daily service requests, break/fix work Ensuring clear documentation is created and maintained for all infrastructure services Monitoring performance and availability of infrastructure systems Accurate inventory maintenance Documenting test plans and their outcomes
Knowledge of:
Networking protocols and operating systems Client and server operating systems (Windows, Mac OS, Linux) Cloud infrastructure and services (Azure Cloud, Microsoft 365) Storage systems and data backup systems Systems and Network operating Center monitoring tools Security Technologies Ability to: Troubleshoot and repair IT infrastructure problems Identify and implement improvements to IT infrastructure Communicate technical concepts to non-technical users Communicate effectively both orally and in writing Evaluate new hardware and software for usefulness and to determine the best solution to needs Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, clients, and vendors Work effectively as a team member Apply Now Please mention to the employer that you saw this ad on UniversityJobs.
