Job Description

Purpose:

Work under general supervision to provide customer service through technology support to students and staff in the use of computers and educational software.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED with experience in technology applications will be considered, however, at least an Associate's Degree or higher in technology applications, or a similar area (NCLB Criteria).

Special Skills:

Knowledge of basic computer operations and skills, Ability to operate personal computer and educational software, Ability to work with students and teachers effectively and Ability to communicate effectively.

Major duties include: Provide customer service to staff and students by offering assistance in use of computers, printers, and instructional software. Maintain computer lab in a neat and orderly manner including bulletin boards and displays. Use a variety of computer applets following complex written instructions. Detect and arrange for maintenance and repair of computer equipment. Provide professional development training to staff. Install individual software programs as permitted in accordance with district policy. Perform minor repair and troubleshooting of technology equipment. Assist teachers as requested in campus computer labs. Alert Central administration to campus technology needs which may include software and technology instructional materials within the district technology guidelines. Manages, updates, and maintains the campus technology inventory. Attends professional development on technology, as well as participates in campus professional development, faculty meetings, and special events as appropriate. Maintain records for work completed. Maintain confidentiality.
