This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional who enjoys working independently, traveling between locations, solving complex technical challenges, and supporting a diverse enterprise technology environment. The Senior IT Field Technician will serve as a primary onsite IT resource responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting end-user devices, network infrastructure, telecommunications equipment, wireless connectivity, 911/emergency communications radio and RF technology, mobile devices, and user access. The position will also support the organization's mobile device environment, including Verizon-connected devices and Mobile Device Management (MDM). This role is critical to maintaining reliable technology and communications operations while adhering to organizational security, compliance, and operational standards.
Compensation:
The target salary range is $58,000-$70,000 annually. We are committed to hiring the right person, not simply filling a position. Candidates who bring exceptional experience, specialized certifications, leadership capabilities, or highly relevant technical expertise may be considered above the posted range. Responsibilities End-User & Field Support Provide onsite and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, printers, and related peripherals. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, network connectivity, and telecommunications issues. Support employees across multiple locations while minimizing operational downtime. Prioritize and manage service requests based on urgency and business impact. Document incidents, resolutions, equipment, and asset information accurately within the IT service management system. Provide professional, responsive technical support to users at all levels of the organization. 911 Radio, RF & Emergency Communications Support Provide technical support for 911 and emergency communications equipment, including radio and RF-related technology. Troubleshoot radio connectivity, RF communications, equipment, and associated infrastructure. Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, testing, and replacement of radio communications equipment. Coordinate with communications vendors and service providers to troubleshoot outages and equipment issues. Help maintain reliable communications capabilities for field and emergency-response operations. Document radio, RF, and communications equipment, configurations, service issues, and resolutions. Mobile Device & Verizon MDM Support Support organization-issued smartphones, tablets, hotspots, and other mobile devices operating on the Verizon network. Administer and support Mobile Device Management (MDM) environments, including device enrollment, configuration, security policies, application deployment, troubleshooting, and device retirement. Assist with mobile device activation, replacement, provisioning, and connectivity issues. Support employee onboarding and offboarding for organization-issued mobile devices. Maintain accurate mobile device inventory and assignment records. Coordinate with Verizon and other vendors to resolve device, service, and connectivity issues. Hardware, Telecommunications & Network Infrastructure Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, printers, multifunction devices, VoIP phones, network equipment, and related hardware. Deploy workstation images, software installations, upgrades, patches, and hardware replacements. Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and document structured network cabling. Support switches, wireless access points, network-connected equipment, and telecommunications infrastructure. Conduct wireless site surveys to evaluate coverage, capacity, connectivity, and interference at new and existing facilities. Coordinate warranty repairs, equipment replacements, and vendor support activities. Identity & Access Administration Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts within Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise systems. Manage security groups, user permissions, shared mailboxes, and distribution lists. Support employee onboarding and offboarding in accordance with established security policies. Assist with user access reviews, audits, and compliance initiatives. Troubleshoot authentication, account access, and permissions issues. Required Qualifications 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in field services, desktop support, network support, or enterprise technical support. Experience supporting Windows-based desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, telecommunications equipment, and network-connected devices. Strong experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365. Working knowledge of structured network cabling and network infrastructure installation. Experience supporting mobile devices and MDM environments. Experience troubleshooting telecommunications, radio, RF, or similar communications technology. Strong hardware, software, network, and connectivity troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple locations. Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and customer service skills. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to travel throughout the assigned Texas territory, including occasional overnight travel. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting 911, EMS, public safety, emergency communications, radio, or RF environments. Experience supporting Verizon mobile devices and MDM solutions. Experience with VoIP, telecommunications, wireless networking, and mobile connectivity. CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), or related technical certifications. Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, ConnectWise, or comparable IT service management platforms. Familiarity with ITIL principles and IT service delivery best practices. Experience supporting geographically distributed, multi-site enterprise environments. Previous experience supporting healthcare, EMS, public safety, or other mission-critical operations.
