AMS Optics & DeltaV Diagnostics Technician Position Summary The DCS Technician III is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and stewarding Emerson DeltaV diagnostics, maintenance tickets, system deficiencies, and corrective action follow-up activities for a major Client facility and associated pipeline assets. This role serves as a key technical resource supporting control system reliability, operational continuity, asset performance, and process safety within a highly regulated LNG environment. The successful candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control Systems and have demonstrated experience supporting diagnostics monitoring, system maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability initiatives. Experience with Emerson AMS Optics and/or AMS Device Manager is strongly desired. This position may support operations at the Houston corporate office, Beaumont office, and the LNG Facility in Sabine Pass, Texas, based on business and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Monitor, analyze, and steward Emerson DeltaV diagnostics, system health alerts, and performance indicators. Manage, track, and follow up on maintenance tickets, system deficiencies, corrective actions, and reliability-related work activities. Utilize AMS Optics and related asset management tools to identify equipment performance issues and support predictive maintenance initiatives. Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Distributed Control System (DCS) hardware, software, communications networks, and associated control equipment. Configure, maintain, and support control system hardware and software to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations. Perform system backups, upgrades, patching, lifecycle support, and preventive maintenance activities. Investigate alarms, communication failures, and diagnostic notifications to minimize operational disruptions and improve system reliability. Support installation, configuration, commissioning, startup, and testing of new control system infrastructure and upgrades. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, and IT teams to resolve control system issues and optimize plant performance. Support Management of Change (MOC) requirements for control system modifications and upgrades. Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, maintenance activities, troubleshooting efforts, and operational changes. Provide technical guidance and training to operations and maintenance personnel as needed. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, system optimization, and enhanced operational reliability. Client Operating Expectations Work must be performed with a strong commitment to: Process Safety Management (PSM) Personal and workplace safety Environmental stewardship Operational reliability and asset integrity Permit-to-Work compliance Management of Change (MOC) Accurate technical documentation Regulatory and company policy compliance The individual will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and SSHE&R teams as required and will be expected to communicate risks, issues, and recommendations in a timely and professional manner. Required Qualifications Minimum 5-7 years of experience supporting Distributed Control Systems (DCS) within Client, natural gas, petrochemical, refinery, pipeline, terminal, power generation, or other heavy industrial operating environments. Hands-on experience supporting Emerson DeltaV control systems. Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving DeltaV diagnostics and control system performance issues. Experience managing maintenance work orders, maintenance tickets, system deficiencies, and corrective action follow-up activities. Strong troubleshooting experience with DCS hardware, software, communications infrastructure, networking, and industrial control systems. Experience performing system backups, upgrades, software patching, preventive maintenance, and control system lifecycle support activities. Experience supporting control system reliability programs, alarm management, diagnostics monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. Knowledge of process control systems, instrumentation, automation, and industrial control principles. Experience utilizing AMS Optics, AMS Device Manager, or similar predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, or asset performance management tools. Experience supporting LNG facilities, natural gas processing facilities, petrochemical plants, refineries, pipelines, terminals, or other regulated process industries. Pipeline control system experience. Knowledge of Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Management (PSM), permit-to-work systems, and operating compliance requirements. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control narratives, loop drawings, logic diagrams, and technical documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, and IT organizations. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and support both office and field operations. Associate degree, technical degree, military equivalent training, or equivalent industry experience in Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related discipline.
