Administration Reports to : Director of Operations SUMMARY La Unión del Pueblo Entero, LUPE is a social justice, community-building, membership organization. The IT Technician will have a unique opportunity to join a skilled and innovative team within a rapidly growing, digital-driven organization at the forefront of immigration in the borderlands. The IT Specialist is responsible for setting up, managing, and troubleshooting LUPE's technology systems to maintain computer and software networks. The duties of the IT Specialist include responding to hardware problems, updating system software, and responding to IT questions from company employees and updating malware protection devices to prevent viruses or computer hacking. LUPE has a sister organization, LUPE Votes, a separate but related nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Although LUPE and LUPE Votes share a common goal of supporting immigrants and low-income people in Rio Grande Valley, and nationally, they are separate organizations with their own board of directors and a set of employees at the two organizations, including the person filling this position, share their time between the two organizations. This does not affect salary or benefits.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Respond promptly to immediate IT issues, prioritizing urgent technical support requests from staff. Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone) Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.) Install, configure, and update computer software, hardware, systems, networks, printers and scanners Develop, monitor and maintain systems and networks in ways that optimize performance and safety Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems Provide orientation and technical support to users on how to operate software and computer equipment Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer items Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.) Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating equipment Monitor security certificates and company compliance of requirements. Manage M365 and G Suite platforms Deploy and manage tenants Plan and manage user identity and roles Manage access and authentication Plan workloads and applications Plan and implement device services Manage security and threats Manage Compliance Perform other related duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Graphic Design or related field is preferred but not required. Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology or required field, plus one (1) year of directly related experience in IT support. A Prior volunteer, community, or work experience regarding immigration or detention is preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be biliterate English/Spanish.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply mathematical skills to problems requiring use of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply mathematical operations to problems requiring the use of basic statistics and statistical inference.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS A
valid Class "C'' Driver's License is required. Professional Google Workspace Administrator Certification and Microsoft 365-Enterprise Administrator Certification are preferred. Must be computer literate and have working knowledge of M365 Suite and GSuite.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
