As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the server, virtualization, and storage systems our organization runs on — increasingly through automation and scripting rather than manual, one-off work. The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for a variety of infrastructure systems and services supporting both of GVEC's data centers. The Infrastructure Engineer is required to provide problem analysis, project planning and coordination, infrastructure support, vendor management and customer support to our internal users. You should possess a strong knowledge of virtualization, Windows/Linux server administration, and scripting or automation tooling. Your Pay The minimum starting pay for this role is $104,000 per year plus bonuses that are tied to a multitude of organizational benchmarks set forth annually. Pay will be determined by skills, qualifications and experience. How You'll Help Deliver best-in-class customer service to ensure that our people and solutions can move swiftly to deliver the unexpected Design, deploy, and maintain server, virtualization (VMware), and storage infrastructure across both of GVEC's data centers Build and maintain automation and scripting (PowerShell, Ansible, or similar) to provision, configure, and remediate infrastructure systems, reducing manual administration wherever possible Design, implement, and document disaster recovery procedures for assigned systems to ensure recovery within approved timeframes, including coordinating and supporting disaster recovery testing across GVEC's two active data centers Support and maintain production servers (Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022) and Linux systems, both physical and virtual Develop monitoring and alerting automation (e.g., CheckMK) to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues before they impact users Assist with the development of standards, policies and procedures to ensure infrastructure reliability and security Partner with the Network and Applications teams on integrated infrastructure projects and initiatives Configure and maintain block storage (RAID, iSCSI), LUN provisioning, and storage replication (Pure Storage ActiveCluster or similar) across both data centers, balancing capacity, performance and cost Use ITSM tooling (Freshservice/Jira Service Management) to manage incidents, requests, and change records Perform off-hours scheduled maintenance Participate in the on-call rotation Provide support to 24/7 business for mission critical systems Share technical expertise by providing cross-training to other peers Participate in Helpdesk level 2 support Provide support for other projects and duties as assigned Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of technical issues, from frontline helpdesk requests to complex infrastructure and automation challenges. Experience/Skills You'll Need Advanced knowledge of server virtualization platforms, preferably VMware Experience with Active Directory and Directory sync configurations Strong scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or similar) to provision and maintain infrastructure at scale Advanced knowledge of Windows Server installation, maintenance and troubleshooting Working knowledge of Linux server administration Knowledge of basic networking, including Layer 3 connectivity and port-level security, to work with the security team to harden assigned systems Experience with storage platforms, backup and disaster recovery tools (e.g., Pure Storage, Veeam), and storage/file server technologies and protocols, including RAID, iSCSI, SAN/NAS, NFS, and SMB Working knowledge of server hardware configurations, including component-level installation, firmware/BIOS management, and hardware troubleshooting Ability to perform physical installation of server and storage hardware, including rack-and-stack work, cabling, and lifting equipment up to 50 lbs Experience with monitoring/observability tooling (CheckMK, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar) Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently Excellent problem-solving skills; able to effectively troubleshoot issues independently Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate and manage conflicting priorities Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic - able to work independently with an impeccable sense of honesty and integrity Strong team player with the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback that fosters growth, accountability, and continuous improvement Preferred Experience/Skills Experience in maintaining Microsoft 365 and Power BI environments 2+ years of experience building infrastructure automation or configuration management (Ansible, Terraform, or similar) Relevant certifications (VMware
VCP, ITIL
