We support nonprofits, healthcare and dental practices, government contractors, senior living communities, and commercial real estate. We are known for showing up, solving the problem, and treating our clients like partners. The Role We are looking for a client facing Field Services Technician who is a people person first and a strong troubleshooter second. You are the face of Capital Techies at the client site. You will walk in calm, explain things in plain English, fix the issue, and leave the client confident they are in good hands. If you enjoy variety, hands on work, and being trusted to own a site visit from start to finish, this is your role. What You Will Do Serve as the onsite technical presence for our clients, arriving prepared, professional, and ready to solve problems. Troubleshoot and repair structured cabling and low voltage wiring: trace, test, terminate, and certify Cat5e / Cat6 / Cat6A runs, patch panels, and jacks. Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, including switches, access points, and basic routing and DNS. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco Meraki equipment (switches, APs, security appliances) through the Meraki dashboard. Support and administer Microsoft 365 / Office 365: user setup, mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint / OneDrive, and common end user issues. Set up, test, and troubleshoot conference room and AV systems (displays, cameras, microphones, room controllers, video conferencing hardware). Install, configure, and refresh workstations, laptops, printers, and peripherals. Follow security best practices on every visit and support our managed security stack across client endpoints. Document work clearly in our ticketing system, including notes, resolutions, and follow up items. Identify and flag additional client needs or risks discovered onsite so we can help the client proactively. What We Are Looking For Required 2+ years in an IT support, field technician, MSP, or AV / low voltage role. Hands on experience troubleshooting structured cabling and low voltage wiring. Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (switches, access points, IP basics, DNS, DHCP). Experience supporting Microsoft 365 / Office 365 in a business environment. Comfort working in the Cisco Meraki dashboard, or strong ability to learn it quickly. Some conference room or AV setup and troubleshooting experience. Excellent communication and a genuine people first, client facing attitude. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to client sites daily. Ability to lift equipment, use a ladder, and perform hands on installation work. Preferred Experience at a Managed Service Provider (MSP). Familiarity with ticketing / PSA tools (ConnectWise or similar) and documentation tools (IT Glue or similar). Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Meraki, Microsoft) are a plus. Cabling certification or termination and testing experience with certifiers (Fluke or similar). Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and endpoint protection. Why Join Capital Techies Variety of work across IT, networking, and AV, so no two days look the same. Real ownership of your client relationships and site visits. A growing company with room to advance into senior field, systems engineering, or project lead roles. A team that backs you up and invests in your certifications and growth.
