Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a versatile IT Generalist to provide frontline technical support while contributing to our client's cybersecurity posture. This role blends hands-on help desk responsibilities with proactive security monitoring and analysis, making it ideal for a well-rounded IT professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Help Desk Support (80%) Serve as the first point of contact for all IT support requests via a ticketing system. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end-users. Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and mobile devices. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other core systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, Teller Systems, and more. Document support requests, resolutions, and recurring issues to improve service efficiency. Provide basic training and guidance to staff on IT tools, best practices, and security awareness. Cybersecurity Analysis (20%) Monitor security alerts, logs, backups (Backup Exec, Veeam), replications (Nakivo), and events from firewalls, endpoint protection, and AD monitoring tool: Netwrix. Investigate suspicious activities, phishing attempts, and potential security incidents. Assist in vulnerability scanning, patch management, and remediation efforts. Maintain and update security policies, procedures, and incident response documentation. Support compliance initiatives (e.g., HIPAA, and FFIEC) through regular audits and reporting. Collaborate with IT leadership to implement security improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications Required:
Classes in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience in IT support, with exposure to cybersecurity tools and practices. Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, O365, print management, and Active Directory. Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN). Understanding of security principles, threat vectors, and incident response basics. Some nights and weekend work is required for project implementations. Some travel will be involved for our clients throughout the Fox Valley.
Preferred:
Hardware experience: computer setup, computer assembly from parts. Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and endpoint management tools. Exposure to SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, and vulnerability management tools.

Pay:
$25.00 - $26.00 per hour
