Job Description

IT TechnicianJob Description Randercom is seeking an IT Technician to manage and support our customers' IT infrastructure, networks, computer systems, and business phone systems. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that combines traditional IT and networking responsibilities with business phone system support. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, has a strong technical aptitude, and is interested in expanding their knowledge of business communications technology. Training will be provided on the business phone-system platforms we support, including hosted VoIP systems and premise-based telephone systems. ResponsibilitiesIT Infrastructure & Network Support Manage and support customer IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, workstations, and related systems Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks Support switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networks, and connected devices Monitor network and system performance and implement upgrades as needed Ensure customer data backups are completed regularly and securely Maintain accurate documentation of networks, systems, configurations, and completed work Technical Support Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues Provide remote and on-site technical support at customer locations Work directly with customers to identify and address technology needs Deliver excellent customer service and clear communication Business Phone Systems Install, program, and support hosted VoIP and premise-based business phone systems Configure IP phones, extensions, voicemail, auto attendants, call routing, and other phone system features Troubleshoot call quality, connectivity, network-related issues, and telephone equipment Learn and support hosted VoIP and premise-based business phone systems Assist customers with business communications solutions and system upgrades Answer customer phone calls and provide technical support when needed Create and prepare quotes for new equipment, system upgrades, moves, adds, and changes Review customer requirements and recommend appropriate phone and communication solutions Document service work, system changes, and customer requests accurately Project Management & Planning Participate in IT and telecommunications projects from planning through completion Assist with budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination Evaluate and recommend technologies that improve efficiency, productivity, and reliability Develop and follow IT policies and procedures that promote data security and compliance Professional Development Stay current with advancements in IT, networking, cybersecurity, and communications technology Participate in an on-call rotation and occasional weekend work when required Experience & QualificationsRequired Experience in IT support, networking, IT administration, telecommunications, or a related technical field preferred, but not required We are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong technical aptitude, a desire to learn, and a passion for technology Entry-level candidates with relevant education, certifications, internships, home-lab experience, or other hands-on technical experience are encouraged to apply Basic understanding of: Computer hardware and operating systems Networking concepts Internet connectivity and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows environments Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer-service skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer locations Ability to relocate to the Appleton, Wisconsin area before starting employment Preferred experience with: LAN/WAN networking Switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networking TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and VPNs Servers and virtualization platforms such as VMware Cloud services and remote-access tools Hosted VoIP, PBX, paging, or premise-based business phone systems ITIL service-management practices IT project management Pulling, routing, dressing, and terminating Cat6/Cat6A network cabling Testing and troubleshooting copper network cabling using cable certification and testing tools What We Offer Competitive pay 401(k) Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Paid time off Professional development and training opportunities Hands-on experience with advanced IT and communications technologies Opportunity to develop valuable skills in business communications and telecommunications systems Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday On-call rotation Occasional weekends as needed Pay $24.00 - $35.00 per hour Pay is based on experience, qualifications, and technical skill level.
