Job Description

Part-Time Apple Technical Support & Sales Specialist MacMan is looking for a customer-focused Apple Technical Support & Sales Specialist to join our team. This is a frontline technical support position for someone who understands Apple products, enjoys troubleshooting technology, and can communicate clearly with customers. The right candidate will work directly with customers to identify problems with their Mac, iPhone, iPad, and other Apple devices. They will ask the right questions, perform initial troubleshooting, and help determine whether the customer needs one-on-one support, additional training, or to have their device checked in for service. This is not solely a sales position. It combines Apple product sales, customer service, technical troubleshooting, service intake, and one-on-one customer support. Whether you have professional technology experience, have repaired or built computers, regularly help others solve technical problems, or have developed strong Apple knowledge through personal experience, we would like to hear from you. About the Position As an Apple Technical Support & Sales Specialist, you will often be the first person a customer speaks with when they have a technology problem. You will listen to the customer, evaluate the situation, document the issue, and help determine the most appropriate next step. Some problems may be resolved through basic troubleshooting or one-on-one support. Other devices may need to be checked in for further diagnosis or repair by a service technician. Your ability to gather accurate information and explain the process clearly will be an important part of the customer experience. You will also help customers select and purchase Macs, iPads, iPhones, accessories, AppleCare, and other products and services based on their needs.
Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Greeting customers and learning what assistance they need Providing frontline technical support for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and other Apple products Asking questions and performing initial troubleshooting to better understand technical problems Determining whether an issue may be resolved through one-on-one support, training, software troubleshooting, or service check-in Checking in computers, phones, tablets, and other devices for service Accurately documenting customer concerns, device conditions, passwords, symptoms, and troubleshooting steps Creating and updating sales and service tickets Helping customers with device setup, Apple Account questions, software updates, backups, email, printing, networking, and other common technology needs Providing one-on-one iOS and macOS support Explaining technical information in a way customers can understand Helping customers choose the right Mac, iPad, iPhone, accessories, AppleCare, and MacMan services Learning and explaining MacMan's products, support options, and service processes Following up with customers regarding sales and service needs Assisting with merchandising and maintaining a clean, organized, and professional store Collaborating with sales and service team members to provide a consistent customer experience Required Qualifications The ideal candidate must: Have a strong working knowledge of Apple products and the Apple ecosystem Be comfortable using macOS, iOS, iPadOS, iCloud, Apple Accounts, and common Apple applications and services Enjoy troubleshooting technology and helping people solve problems Be able to listen carefully and ask effective troubleshooting questions Communicate technical information clearly and patiently Be comfortable working directly with customers in person and by phone Be dependable, organized, motivated, and willing to learn Be able to accurately document customer concerns and technical information Work well independently and as part of a team Maintain a professional and positive attitude, even when assisting frustrated customers Helpful Experience Experience in any of the following areas is helpful: Apple product sales or support Computer, smartphone, or tablet troubleshooting Computer or phone repair Building, upgrading, or repairing computers Help desk or technical support Customer service or retail sales Device setup and data migration Software installation and troubleshooting Email, printing, networking, backup, and cloud services Helping customers or family members learn how to use technology Diagnosing problems and determining when a device requires professional repair Professional repair experience is helpful but is not required. However, candidates should already have a solid understanding of Apple devices and be comfortable troubleshooting common technology problems.
