DIRECTOR OF PUPIL SERVICES JOB GOAL
The SEL Specialist will assist the district SEL Coordinator with the implementation and integration of behavioral initiatives and practices that are embedded within the district's multilevel system of support (MLSS).
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Current valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction teacher license required 2. Masters in Administrative Leadership, School Counseling, or School Psychology preferred; but not required. 3. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with individuals, teams, and groups. 4. Demonstrates leadership and project organizational skills (planning, implementing, evaluation). 5. Possess knowledge of and has experience with best practice approaches to social emotional learning, including PBIS, Conscious Discipline, and Collaborative and Proactive Solutions. 6. Experience planning and conducting professional development/training. 7. Experience in data-based decision making. 8. Background knowledge and training in equity, including culturally responsive practices. 9. Demonstrates experience building strong relationships internally and externally. 10. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist with SEL coordination and consulting duties throughout the district. 2. Support the development and expansion of the district's behavioral MLSS. 3. Attend national, regional and statewide trainings for Conscious Discipline, PBIS, SEL, Collaborative and Proactive Solutions, Harmony, Educlimber, and Equity. 4. Provide school based and district wide professional development to staff. 5. Provide technical assistance and support to schools and internal/external coaches. 6. Train and provide ongoing technical and data analysis support to all schools. 7. Assist schools with the implementation of SEL curriculum and conduct regular fidelity checks. 8. Collect and monitor school and district databases to track and analyze student behavior data. 9. Provide SEL support to counselors, behavioral IST's, administrators, and other staff members. 10. Research and implement strategies that promote equity and cultural responsive practices in SEL. 11. Follow Board of Education approved policies and administrative guidelines. 12.
