Job Description

BPI Color is a Wisconsin-based provider of large-format printing, signage, graphics, blueprints, scanning, installation, and related visual communication services. We work with businesses, contractors, architects, retailers, and organizations throughout the region. We're looking for a hands-on, dependable, technically minded Service Technician to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys figuring out how things work, troubleshooting problems, working with technology and equipment, and getting things back up and running when something isn't working correctly. What You'll Do This position is responsible for supporting the technology and equipment used throughout our production and customer sites. This is not a desk job.
Responsibilities will include:
Troubleshoot and maintain printing equipment hardware and software Troubleshoot network and Wi-Fi connectivity issues Assist with setup, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of printers and production equipment Maintain and troubleshoot large format & small format printing and production equipment Work with a variety of printer and equipment technologies, including HP, Xerox, Epson, Canon, Lexmark, KIP and other production equipment Diagnose mechanical, electrical, software, and connectivity problems Perform preventative maintenance on production and customer equipment Install and configure software, drivers, firmware, and equipment-related applications Troubleshoot communication between computers, networks, RIP software, and production equipment Assist production employees when equipment or software problems affect workflow Help maintain reliable operation of equipment used in our manufacturing/production environment Work with vendors and manufacturers when advanced technical support is required Document problems, repairs, maintenance, and solutions Assist with general technology and equipment projects throughout the company Jump in and help wherever needed to keep production moving Creating service tickets, invoicing and inventory management Helping other departments when task are complete What We're Looking For We're looking for a go-getter who likes to solve problems . You don't necessarily need to have experience in the sign or printing industry. We are more interested in someone who has demonstrated technical ability and enjoys working with equipment and technology.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in IT, electronics, equipment service, manufacturing technology, printing, production equipment, or a related technical field Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience working with computer hardware and software Basic understanding of networks and Wi-Fi Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work comfortably around production equipment The ability to learn new equipment and software quickly Strong attention to detail and well orginized Good communication skills with customers, vendors and staff The ability to work independently without needing constant supervision A willingness to get your hands dirty and figure things out A positive, can-do attitude Reliability Is Extremely Important This position plays an important role in keeping BPI Color and our customer onsite equipment running.

Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Must be 21 years old Clean Driving Record Valid driver's license required Previous technical, IT, equipment, manufacturing, or service experience preferred Ability to lift and move equipment/materials as required Ability to work safely around production machinery Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work around equipment throughout the day Technical experience is preferred, but attitude, reliability, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn are extremely important.
