The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support for incoming issues related to Woodcraft's computer systems, hardware or software. Essential Functions of the
Job:
Respond to inquiries via phone, email, teams, and in person in a timely, professional manner. Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques to determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided. Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers. Maintain and repair technological equipment or peripheral devices in-person as well as remotely. Perform testing on the company's products and features and report findings to internal teams. Create detailed documentation related to products and features, resolutions to issues, inquiries, and complaints. Escalate unresolved technical issues to the appropriate staff. Report product issues and technical issues via the Ticketing System. Pass on any feedback or suggestions from users to the appropriate internal team. Identify and suggest procedural improvements by submitting specific suggested documentation edits. Utilize and add to the current internal knowledgebase with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies. Perform system checks and software updates as required. Collaborate with the Applications Development team to provide feedback and improve products based on customer experiences.
Job Specific Competencies:
Tech savvy with working knowledge of point of sale systems, software and peripherals. Good understanding of computer systems including but not limited to Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office and Dynamics. Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues. Excellent communication skills. Customer-oriented and cool-tempered. Exceptional organizing and time-management skills. Works well in a team. Comfortable documenting processes and procedures.
Qualification and Education Requirements:
Proven experience as an IT technician Experience in a customer support role Degree or Certification in Computer Science or relevant field is preferred.
