Job Description

Our client, a transportation-focused organization, is looking for an Integration & Test Engineer to own a complex EDI and systems environment end-to-end. This is a high-autonomy seat for someone who thrives working independently, can make sense of an existing technical environment quickly, and is comfortable being the sole technical resource. You'll blend hands-on EDI and systems work with modern AI-assisted development, all while staying approachable to non-technical teammates.

Compensation:

$35/hour What You'll Be Doing Work hands-on with EDI transactions in transportation (X12 204, 990, 214, 210), tracing activity across provider, transport, and TMS systems

Plan and execute an integration or EDI provider cutover, including a rehearsed rollback

Handle production Linux administration

Read, run, and deploy existing code with little to no documentation

Use AI tools to help build, review, and verify code

Step in and take full ownership of a previously established technical environment

Write documentation clear enough for another engineer to pick up and follow

Operate independently, without a technical team to lean on

Communicate clearly and patiently with non-technical stakeholders What You'll Need to be Considered Hands-on EDI experience in transportation (X12 204, 990, 214, 210)

Experience leading an integration or EDI provider cutover with a rehearsed rollback plan

Production Linux administration experience

Ability to read, run, and deploy someone else's undocumented code

Working fluency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude preferred)

Experience taking over an existing technical environment from a previous owner

Strong documentation skills and a self-directed working style

Personable, customer-service-minded communication style with non-technical audiences

Experience with McLeod LoadMaster or PowerBroker (preferred) INDIT
