Senior Firmware Engineer

Job Description

At CoreKinect Firmware Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with hardware and software engineers in the design and development of connected devices. They use hardware schematics, product specifications, and device requirements to write firmware which satisfies the requirements using the available hardware. They respond to customer requests or events as they occur and can debug and diagnose problems based on the provided data using their knowledge of the system and how it is used. They develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgment and good engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position, your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Designing, developing, and debugging device firmware
  • Debugging product and test failures using software debuggers and/or output logs
  • Reviewing and providing strong feedback on product firmware architecture specifications
  • Giving input on hardware decisions as devices are designed
  • Developing solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgment, and good engineering practices This position requires good interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Required Qualifications:

You should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience programming (C, C++, or other low-level language)
  • Familiarity with firmware and/or embedded programming topics
  • Experience using lab equipment (logic analyzer, oscilloscope, etc.

)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience writing firmware or embedded software
  • Experience programming for RTOS-based projects
  • Experience reading and using hardware specifications
  • Experience with wireless protocols (BLE, LTE Cat-M, NBIOT, LoRa, etc.)
  • Electrical engineering knowledge (RF engineering, circuit design, etc.)
  • Experience implementing security features (cryptography, etc.)
  • Software development practices (code reviews, unit testing, etc.

)

Pay:

$110,000.00

  • $130,000.

00 per year
