RADAR SYSTEM ENGINNER
Technovative Applications is a U.S. Defense Contractor in Brea, California. The company develops and produces fire control systems, radar interferometers, radar systems, and miniaturized communications transceivers for U.S. military applications. Technovative Applications provides creative freedom, challenging opportunities, and a refreshing environment for individuals to participate in a broad range of engineering and manufacturing activities associated with early concept developments all the way through implementation, integration, test, system, and field demonstrations. Senior radar systems engineer. The successful candidate will support requirements development, architecture, design, analysis and implementation of complex radar systems alongside a multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer radar requirements, perform trades and develop lower-level hardware and software requirements necessary to meet radar requirements
- Simulate radar performance characteristics to define solutions for waveform design, signal processing, detection algorithms and tracker updates
- Develop Electronic Protection Techniques to ensure robust radar performance in a hostile environment
- Develop verification methods for radar requirements and work with customer to verify compliance
- Develop test plans and support radar field test, radar functional qualification test and environmental test
- Perform Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and develop Built-in-Test as necessary to meet customer requirements for Fault-Detection and Fault Isolation
- Maintain size, weight, power and cooling budgets for the radar system and allocate requirements to subsystem specifications
- Interface with customer
- Support Reliability and Maintainability analysis performed by supplier
Qualifications:
- BS/MS degree
- 5-10 years of related experience
- Understanding of communication theory
- Understanding of probability and statistics
- Demonstrated systems engineering capability including radar system architecture development, requirements analysis, analytical modeling, design, development, integration, and test
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages
- U.
S. Citizen with security clearance or ability to obtain one (Secret level)
Preferred:
- Strong English language skills including writing and speaking
Pay:
$120,099.23 - $180,000.00 per year
