Technical interviews conducted via Microsoft Teams and onsite Job Summary The Systems Engineer I is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of system hardware and software in a mixed Linux and Microsoft environment. This role plays a key part in supporting infrastructure operations and ensuring smooth transitions from development to production environments. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers and system infrastructure Provision hardware, storage, and system services based on project and operational needs Monitor system performance, availability, and security through regular checks and logs Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues Support internal teams by addressing technical concerns and operational challenges Perform system upgrades, performance tuning, and resource optimization Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and procedures Automate routine system administration tasks where possible Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery Participate in on-call or after-hours support as needed Required Skills Strong Linux system administration experience Experience with hardware setup, configuration, and debugging Proficiency in Python programming (scripting and basic application updates) Solid understanding of system monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively Preferred Qualifications Python experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Experience working in mixed Linux/Windows environments Familiarity with automation and system optimization techniques Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, IT) 2-3 years of system administration experience (Linux and Windows) Proven ability to troubleshoot complex OS and network connectivity issues Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders Additional Requirements Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends to support global teams Comfortable working fully onsite in San Jose, CA
