Job Description Description:
Strong Roots. Forward Thinking. For nearly 150 years, Indiana Farmers Insurance has earned trust by helping members protect what matters most. Our history as a mutual insurance company provides stability, but it does not keep us from looking ahead. We continue to improve how we serve our members, partner with independent agencies, and support our associates. Guided by our ICARE values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Empowerment, you will be encouraged to ask questions, contribute ideas, build your skills, and take an active role in shaping the company's future. Join us and help write the next chapter of Indiana Farmers Insurance. Why This Role Matters As Team Leader, Technology Enablement, you will lead a small, hands-on team that helps Indiana Farmers Insurance modernize how technology is built and delivered. You will tackle complex engineering problems, shape a practical technology-enablement roadmap, and help teams adopt cloud, automation, DevOps, and AI-enabled capabilities that improve developer experience, delivery effectiveness, and long-term business outcomes. What You Will Do Lead, mentor, and develop a small technology enablement team responsible for internal tooling, engineering enablement, and innovation. Contribute directly to codebases, prototypes, and technical evaluations that solve complex technology-enablement needs and improve engineering practices. Own and evolve a technology-enablement roadmap by monitoring emerging technologies, identifying practical opportunities, and translating them into enterprise recommendations. Partner with application development, architecture, infrastructure, and security teams to advance DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, cloud-native approaches, and modern software delivery practices. Design and build internal tools and platforms that simplify engineering workflows and support the software delivery lifecycle. Coach teams through adoption of new tools and practices, remove barriers, and help them build sustainable ownership after implementation. Support the organization's Azure cloud modernization efforts, including containerization and cloud-native application capabilities. Evaluate and help guide responsible adoption of AI-enabled tools and capabilities to improve engineering efficiency, decision-making, quality, and business outcomes. Build trusted relationships with peers, technology leadership, and partners across the organization to align priorities and accelerate progress on significant initiatives. Lead talent management, career development, and training activities that build capability, accountability, and innovation across the team. How You Will Contribute You will be successful by bringing informed technical judgment, curiosity, and momentum to work that is still taking shape. This role requires a leader who can solve difficult problems, explain the value of change, bring others along, and balance hands-on delivery with coaching and long-term capability building. You will help turn emerging practices into solutions that teams can understand, adopt, and sustain.
