Job Description

Job Summary

Design and develop RF and digital satellite communication systems, including multi-rate fixed-point signal processing algorithms, waveforms, and system architectures. Perform analysis, trade studies, detailed system design, verification, integration, and testing across unit-level and spacecraft applications while supporting HDL-level design and verification activities.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen Education & Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, including manufacturing engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience with digital signal processing and digital communications algorithms and techniques, including equalization, turbo/Viterbi coding and decoding, channel estimation, filter design, and resampling theory
  • 3+ years of experience with Matlab or Simulink
  • 5+ years of experience in core digital communications and signal processing theory
  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, including requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design, and trade design
  • 1+ years of experience working with FPGAs or ASICs
  • Proficiency in digital signal processing and DSP
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Preferred Skills
  • Experience with laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, waveform generators, and spectrum analyzers
  • Experience leading teams of engineers
  • 14+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience Job Duties & Functions
  • Design and develop next-generation RF and digital satellite communication systems
  • Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point signal processing algorithms
  • Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models
  • Perform waveform development and characterization
  • Execute trade studies
  • Support integration and test of payloads and spacecraft from unit level through in-orbit operations
  • Apply HDL-level design and verification techniques
  • Perform detailed system design and verification activities
  • Lead teams
  • Lead IR D activities
  • Interact with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance Physical Requirements & Environment
  • Work onsite 100 in El Segundo, CA
  • Work a first-shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Out-of-state candidates may be considered but must relocate at their own expense
