Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Control Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with OIS algorithm design with sensor fusion from IMU (inertial measurement unit) (on SOC (system on a chip)) or MCU (Micro-controller unit). Strong prototyping skills to enable software development/proof of concepts and programming experience in C++ Firmware. Understanding of statistics for process control and analyzing measurement data with Python or Matlab. Understanding of standard protocols such asI2C/I3C, UART, SPI.

Responsibilities Architect the roadmap and goal for next-generation Autofocus (AF) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) systems across Google's hardware portfolio. Drive the introduction of novel AF/OIS technologies—from concept to production—to pioneer new imaging and sensing capabilities. Own the end-to-end design, development, and optimization of advanced control systems and algorithms to achieve AF and OIS performance.
