Month Contract Job Description:
We are seeking an exceptional Software Systems Engineer and High-Performance Embedded Computing (HPEC) Subject Matter Expert to provide consultation and technical oversight. This role requires a strong combination of heterogeneous multicore architecture expertise, applied performance engineering, and aerospace embedded computing experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide expert consultation on high-performance embedded computing architectures and software performance optimization. Design and architect heterogeneous multicore software systems for space and aerospace applications. Conduct applied performance engineering analysis and optimization of parallel software systems. Support integration of advanced embedded computing systems into aerospace platforms and next-generation avionics designs. Ensure software and performance goals are met in accordance with program requirements. Collaborate with engineering teams to support technical direction, architecture decisions, and system integration needs. Provide training, mentoring, or technical guidance as needed in multicore and parallel programming practices.
Qualifications:
Significant real-world experience across the following disciplines: software architecture, software development, applied performance engineering, parallel software design and development, high-performance computing, computer and microprocessor architecture, operating systems, and fault tolerance. Proven track record in heterogeneous architecture design, such as RISC-V/ARM or similar platforms. Experience with military-aerospace HPEC systems and mission computers. Deep understanding of multicore and parallel programming methodologies. Hands-on experience with embedded real-time systems.
Preferred:
Experience with OpenVPX or SpaceVPX form factors. Background in ISR, mission computers, or sensor ingest systems. Experience with GPU computing and acceleration technologies. Prior work with national laboratories or aerospace prime contractors. Training, mentoring, or teaching experience in multicore and parallel programming.
