Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced Chief System Engineer (CSE) to support the GeoXO program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the systems engineering effort on this multi-year development program, working in close collaboration with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, Space Vehicle and Payload IPT Leads, as well as the NASA customer. The CSE will be responsible for technical direction, planning, staffing, interfacing with LM senior management, customers, subcontractors, partners and suppliers, and integration and coordination with all functional organizations involved in system design, integration, assembly, test and delivery. This is a high-visibility position that offers an opportunity to quickly make a significant impact on the future of LM Space. The position requires a high level of technical and business acumen to balance priorities, drive issue prevention/resolution, and clearly communicate status and needs to our customers/partners, and with both Lockheed Martin and supplier executives. Standard Job Description Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT. ## Basic Qualifications- Demonstrated ability to balance cost, schedule and technical decisions
- Experience supporting the Systems Engineering organization on a development program.
- Demonstrated experience building effective customer relationships and negotiating requirements and scope
- CAM experience
- Experience leading technical teams
- Project management experience
- Experience implementing System Engineering processes and command media
- Experience with system-level considerations for multi-vehicle architectures and high-performance systems for space applications
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles and processes, and their application to complex space architectures through the entire life cycle
- Familiar with technology obsolescence management ## Desired Skills
- Experience with fixed price program execution
- C&DH design and integration experience
- NASA customer experience
- Experience as a Chief System Engineer through the entire lifecycle of a development program
- Experience in a formal leadership role
- Development program management experience
- Recognized as an authority in the implementation of System Engineering processes and command media, with the demonstrated ability to apply them to a wide range of sophisticated problems and train others in their application
- Experience with Systems Engineering principles and processes, and their application to complex space architectures through the entire life cycle
- Experience with technology obsolescence management
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range:
