About the role The Senior Technical Lead is our most senior engineer and the escalation point for the service desk. Our clients run a mix of legacy on-prem Active Directory and Microsoft 365, so you need to be comfortable in both. Strong networking, firewall and VoIP skills are required. Responsibilities Administer and troubleshoot on-prem Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP, including older server versions Plan and run domain controller upgrades, file server migrations, and cleanup of inherited environments Administer Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint and OneDrive; configure MFA and Conditional Access; manage hybrid identity with Entra Connect Deploy and manage firewalls, HA pairs and site-to-site IPsec VPN tunnels, including tunnels between different vendors Design and troubleshoot VLANs, routing, QoS and wireless networks Support FreePBX, Sangoma and Switchvox phone systems and SIP trunks using call logs and Wireshark Respond to security incidents, manage EDR and email security tools, and run vulnerability scans and remediate findings Build and maintain Hyper-V hosts, failover clusters and virtual machines, including physical-to-virtual migrations Perform basic SQL Server management and backups for EHR and practice management databases Manage backups and test restores regularly Automate routine work with PowerShell and use AI tools for troubleshooting, scripting and documentation Lead client projects including scoping, scheduling and cutover Mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians and write team documentation Own escalations with carriers, software vendors and hardware manufacturers Required 7+ years of hands-on IT experience, including 2+ years in a senior, lead or mentoring role Strong on-prem Active Directory and Group Policy experience Strong Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration Solid networking skills, including VLANs, routing and wireless Hands-on firewall and IPsec VPN experience VoIP and SIP troubleshooting experience Hands-on Hyper-V experience, including host builds, failover clustering and VM migrations Working knowledge of cybersecurity tools and incident response Experience using AI tools in daily IT work Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Healthcare IT experience (EHR, practice management, HL7 interfaces, clinical devices), strongly preferred MSP experience Linux experience FortiGate experience Work environment Fully on-site at our Cape Coral office with travel to client sites. No remote or hybrid option. You'll take part in the after-hours on-call rotation and sometimes work evenings or weekends for migrations.
