Job Description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
  • 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in platform engineering, infrastructure operations, DevOps, or patch management.
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale patching activities across Linux and Windows operating system platforms.
  • Proven ability to design, test, certify, and release infrastructure or platform changes in production environments.
  • Operating System & Patch Management:
  • Strong knowledge of OS patch engineering, patch catalogues, patch validation, release readiness, and lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux platforms such as RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, Alpine, or similar distributions.
  • Experience with Windows Server patching, operating system maintenance, and enterprise platform support.
  • Automation, Tooling & CI/CD:
  • Strong scripting experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Groovy, or similar automation languages.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
  • Cloud & Container Platforms:
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with Azure or AWS experience beneficial.
  • Knowledge of container platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, OpenShift, or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of cloud-native deployment patterns, image lifecycle management, and platform reliability practices.
  • Security & Compliance:
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management, security hardening, compliance controls, and audit support.
  • Experience working with cybersecurity, risk, and operations teams to remediate vulnerabilities and improve platform compliance.
  • Ability to prepare evidence and support governance activities related to patching and platform operations.

  • Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage priorities across production, compliance, and operational demands. Roles & Responsibilities 1. Patch Engineering & Platform Management
  • Design, test, certify, and maintain operating system patching solutions, patch catalogues, and platform enhancements.
  • Support OS patch engineering, patch tooling integration, and automation capabilities across infrastructure and cloud platforms.
  • Validate, test, and release patches to meet production, compliance, security, and operational requirements.
  • Manage patch lifecycle activities, including patch availability, validation outcomes, release readiness, and operational handover.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and documentation related to patch governance and platform maintenance. 2. Security, Risk & Compliance
  • Integrate vulnerability assessment, security validation, and compliance checks into patch management and platform engineering processes.
  • Ensure operating system and platform configurations comply with internal policies, regulatory expectations, risk controls, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and risk teams to assess vulnerabilities, prioritize remediation, and strengthen the security posture of infrastructure platforms.
  • Support compliance evidence, operational reporting, and audit activities related to patching, platform maintenance, and vulnerability remediation. 3. Automation & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop automation for patch deployment, validation, rollback checks, monitoring, reporting, and release readiness activities.
  • Use Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and scripting to reduce manual effort and improve repeatability across patching operations.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize patching processes, improve release frequency, and support timely vulnerability remediation.
  • Contribute to standardization of tools, processes, and engineering patterns across infrastructure platforms. 4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as a technical point of contact for platform, infrastructure, security, application, and operations teams.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand patching requirements, production dependencies, service constraints, and compliance expectations.
  • Provide technical guidance and best practices for patch governance, automation, platform stability, and release management.
  • Operate effectively within a cross-functional Agile team and contribute to knowledge sharing, mentoring, and engineering excellence.
Salary Range:
$90,000 to $ 115,000 per year
