This position partners with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and technology partners to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions that support business operations. The role is responsible for maintaining the health, availability, performance, and security of core infrastructure systems; leading or participating in infrastructure projects; troubleshooting complex technical issues; supporting disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives; and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation, standardization, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded infrastructure engineer who is comfortable working across multiple technologies, supporting a highly available enterprise environment, and continuously developing their technical expertise. Position must be based out of the greater Columbus, GA area for the support of two facilities within this region. Job Responsibilities Enterprise Infrastructure Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and core infrastructure services. Ensure the availability, performance, capacity, and reliability of enterprise infrastructure supporting business operations. Monitor infrastructure health and recommend improvements that enhance stability, scalability, and operational efficiency. Enterprise Networking Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, including switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, VPN connectivity, and WAN services. Monitor network performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, resiliency, and security. Plan, implement, and support network lifecycle management, infrastructure upgrades, and standardization initiatives. Security, Identity & Business Continuity Administer enterprise identity services and implement infrastructure security controls that protect organizational systems, data, and business operations. Design, maintain, and regularly validate backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions for both on-premises and cloud environments. Participate in security audits, vulnerability remediation, disaster recovery testing, and compliance initiatives. Infrastructure Projects & Operational Support Lead or participate in infrastructure projects, technology deployments, and operational initiatives from planning through implementation. Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide advanced technical support across enterprise systems. Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, and infrastructure diagrams to support operational excellence. Vendor & Technical Partner Management Coordinate with hardware, software, cloud, telecommunications, and managed service providers to support infrastructure operations and projects. Manage vendor support cases and technical escalations to resolution while ensuring minimal business disruption. Evaluate infrastructure technologies and provide recommendations that align with business objectives and operational requirements. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and IT staff to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure solutions. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation, standardization, monitoring, and process improvement. Communicate technical recommendations, project status, operational risks, and infrastructure health to both technical and non-technical audiences.
