Cloud infrastructure architecture, system design, technical leadership What you would do Typical responsibilities could include: Designing end-to-end cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS, Azure, or multi-cloud approaches Defining architecture patterns, standards, and best practices for infrastructure and DevOps teams Leading the evaluation, selection, and implementation of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform Mentoring and guiding technical teams through complex architectural decisions Collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, security, and operations to align infrastructure with business objectives Driving technology strategy and roadmap decisions for cloud platforms and infrastructure modernization Conducting architecture reviews and establishing governance for infrastructure deployments Translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective technical solutions What you could bring Most roles of this type require the following: Must-have 10-15 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud architecture, or systems engineering 5+ years leading technical teams or mentoring engineers through complex architectural challenges Deep experience designing and implementing solutions on AWS and/or Azure at enterprise scale Hands-on expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field Authorization to work in the United States Nice-to-have AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect certification Google Cloud Architect certification Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures Knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, or modern DevOps practices Track record of leading infrastructure transformation initiatives What roles of this type could offer Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role: Opportunity to shape infrastructure strategy and technology decisions at scale Mentorship and leadership of talented technical teams Exposure to complex, high-impact architecture challenges Potential for professional development through emerging cloud technologies and architectural practices Collaborative environment where technical vision directly influences product and platform direction Flexible, contract-based engagement with potential for extension based on project needs About Specialist Staffing Group Specialist Staffing Group partners with organizations across industries to identify, develop, and place technical talent.
