Systems Engineer I#26-21789 Mount Prospect, IL Onsite Job Description Top Must-Have Skillsets (technical): Data center experience Server installations Data cabling installation Data center adds, moves, and changes experience Nice-to-Have Skillsets (technical or soft): Electrical or low-voltage wiring Experience in the trades This position requires a hands-on individual with experience installing and supporting data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment and performing physical installation and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Perform the physical installation, relocation, and removal of data center equipment, including servers, network switches, storage systems, racks, and structured cabling. Install, label, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling. Travel to company data center and colocation facilities as required. Support a 24x7x365 operation, including the ability to work various shifts, weekends, holidays. Safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Work comfortably and safely on ladders and in raised floor or overhead cable environments. Follow established safety procedures and data center operational standards while performing all installation and maintenance activities. Demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a production data center
