This is a direct hire opportunity with a company that has a national footprint and a mature IT environment built heavily around Microsoft Azure. The role carries real strategic weight - you will be shaping cloud architecture decisions, leading migration efforts, and setting the standards the broader IT and development teams follow. This is the kind of position where your fingerprints will be on the infrastructure for years to come. The company is looking for someone who can operate at both the design level and the execution level, engage confidently with leadership and cross-functional teams, and help elevate the people around them through mentorship and strong documentation practices. If you are a cloud architect who wants more than a maintenance role and is drawn to organizations where security and governance are taken seriously - including compliance frameworks like NIST and CMMC - this is worth a close look. Required Skills & Experience 8 or more years of experience in IT architecture with a focused emphasis on cloud computing Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, including Active Directory, cloud security, and governance Proven experience leading cloud migration projects from assessment through execution and optimization Strong understanding of networking, security, virtualization, and storage in cloud environments Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline integration Working knowledge of IT security control frameworks including NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC-2, or equivalent Strong Active Directory and Group Policy administration skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - Master's degree preferred Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for varied audiences Experience with Agile, DevOps, or other modern IT delivery methodologies Willingness to occasionally work outside standard business hours and travel as needed Desired Skills & Experience Relevant cloud certifications such as
AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified:
