We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a 12-month contract position based in Fort Washington, Maryland. In this role, you will lead the migration from on-premises Cisco IronPort email security appliances to a cloud-based Proofpoint email security solution, ensuring minimal disruption to email services. Responsibilities Lead the migration from on-premises IronPort email security appliances to Proofpoint cloud-based email security Design, configure, implement, and maintain Proofpoint as an enterprise email security service Configure Proofpoint firewall rules and maintain email block lists Respond to requests to quarantine, release, and manage emails within Proofpoint Troubleshoot complex enterprise email security and messaging issues Ensure seamless transition with minimal disruption to email services during migration Qualifications Required Expert-level experience with Proofpoint enterprise email security Deep understanding of Mail Transfer Agents (MTA) and Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway Hands-on experience with Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway 8.x Strong experience with Linux Server environments Experience with VMware/virtualized environments Strong understanding of email security architecture, mail flow, filtering, quarantine management, and enterprise messaging infrastructure
