is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Platform Engineer on behalf of our client in Detroit, MI / Madison, WI / Minneapolis, MN . This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge medical technology focused on non-invasive treatment solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in embedded Linux systems, platform security, and production-grade environments within regulated industries. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain secure Ubuntu-based embedded Linux images Implement system hardening, security controls, and compliance measures aligned with regulatory standards Develop and secure Over-the-Air (OTA) update mechanisms for device lifecycle management Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners on production image development Contribute to platform security architecture, including secure boot, access control, and system integrity Support integration and security of embedded and edge computing platforms Participate in risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediation Required Qualifications Strong experience with Embedded Linux systems, particularly Ubuntu-based environments Proven expertise in platform security, system hardening, and secure image creation Hands-on experience with OTA update systems and device lifecycle management Solid understanding of: Linux kernel and system internals Filesystems, networking, and system services Security frameworks and best practices Experience working in regulated environments (medical device industry preferred) Excellent communication and collaboration skills Nice to Have Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms Background in embedded/edge devices, IoT, or connected systems Familiarity with: Secure boot, PKI, encryption, and key management Containerization or lightweight virtualization CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems
