Indefinite Contract Hudson Group is an international retailer and distributor primarily involved in the sport and fashion wear sectors. The Group's head office is in Malta but is also present through offices in Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya and Algeria. Though Hudson Holdings was founded in 2006, the Group's roots reach as far back as 1987 when the first pair of NIKE was sold in Malta. Role purpose We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Technical Lead to oversee the design, delivery, support, and continuous improvement of the organisation's technology infrastructure and workplace services. This role combines technical leadership, people management, project delivery, operational excellence, and strategic planning. The Technical Lead is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, scalability, and efficiency of the Group's IT environment across offices, warehouses, retail stores, and cloud platforms. The successful candidate will lead a team of Infrastructure and Workplace Engineers while actively participating in solution design, project implementation, cybersecurity initiatives, and technology transformation programmes. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership capability, stakeholder management, and project execution to support a growing international business. The key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows: Technical Leadership & Governance Serve as the highest level of technical escalation for infrastructure, networking, cloud, workplace, and cybersecurity platforms. Define and maintain technical architecture standards, operational procedures, and engineering best practices. Review and approve infrastructure designs, configurations, security controls, and technical implementations. Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives. Lead technical assessments, root cause analysis, problem management, and major incident investigations. Drive standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement across the IT landscape. Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture Own the technical roadmap for server, cloud, networking, workplace, and infrastructure services. Design and oversee highly available, resilient, and secure infrastructure solutions. Lead infrastructure modernisation and cloud transformation initiatives. Govern Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, server, storage, backup, and networking environments. Ensure capacity planning, performance optimisation, and disaster recovery readiness. Evaluate emerging technologies and provide technical recommendations to the Head of IT. Security & Compliance Lead technical security initiatives across infrastructure and workplace platforms. Establish baseline security standards and hardening procedures. Oversee vulnerability management, patching, identity protection, and infrastructure security controls. Support cybersecurity investigations and incident response activities. Ensure infrastructure complies with internal governance requirements and industry best practices. Technical Coordination & Delivery Coordinate technical activities across Infrastructure Engineers, Workplace Engineers, vendors, contractors, and project teams. Ensure consistent engineering practices and technical standards across all IT initiatives. Balance operational workloads, project priorities, technical debt reduction, and strategic initiatives. Facilitate technical reviews, solution workshops, and design discussions. Work closely with the Head of IT to align technical execution with business priorities and budgets. Mentor engineers and provide technical coaching and guidance. Retail Stores & Warehouse Projects Lead the technical planning, design, commissioning, and operational readiness of new retail stores, warehouses, offices, and refurbishment projects. Define infrastructure requirements for networking, wireless, security systems, POS, business applications, workplace technology, and connectivity. Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and technology partners throughout project delivery. Conduct technical site assessments and infrastructure reviews. Approve technology designs and ensure compliance with corporate standards. Oversee go-live activities and post-implementation support to ensure business readiness and operational stability. Operational Excellence Drive service reliability, availability, and performance improvements. Ensure infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and operational support processes are effective. Lead problem management initiatives to eliminate recurring incidents. Review operational KPIs and identify opportunities for optimisation. Maintain infrastructure documentation, diagrams, standards, and technical knowledge repositories. Core competencies, knowledge, and experience Experience Minimum 7 years' experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud, networking, or systems engineering. Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Windows Server, and hybrid infrastructure. Strong networking knowledge including routing, switching, wireless, VPN, SD-WAN, and security technologies. Experience designing and supporting highly available enterprise environments. Strong cybersecurity and infrastructure governance knowledge. Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects and technology transformations. Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Ability to coordinate multiple technical stakeholders across complex projects. You are able to manage third party suppliers. You are willing to travel. Have a valid driving license Certifications Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field Microsoft 365
Certified:
Endpoint Administrator Associate (Exam MD-102).
Microsoft Certified:
Azure Administrator Associate (Exam AZ-104) CCNA or an equivalent certification. CCNP will be considered an asset ITIL Foundation will be considered as an asset. Any Public Cloud certifications, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services (AWS), will be considered as an asset. Skills Customer-focused and service-oriented.
