Job Description

firstPRO is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to support the management, governance, automation, and day-to-day operations of our Microsoft Azure environment. This role combines cloud platform engineering with hands-on operational support, with a heavier emphasis on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the Azure platform. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Azure, Terraform, GitHub Actions, cloud governance, security controls, and infrastructure operations. Depth of technical knowledge and the ability to effectively support an enterprise Azure environment are more important than a specific number of years of experience. Key Responsibilities Manage Azure tenants, management groups, subscriptions, and resource organization. Maintain Azure Landing Zone standards and cloud governance frameworks. Configure and manage Azure Policy, RBAC, tagging, and naming standards. Support the onboarding and integration of new Azure workloads. Establish and maintain cloud guardrails and governance best practices. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. Maintain GitHub Actions deployment pipelines and automation workflows. Automate Azure provisioning, configuration, and operational processes. Maintain infrastructure repositories and ensure adherence to coding and deployment standards. Support Terraform module development and reusable infrastructure patterns. Implement and maintain least-privilege access controls using Azure RBAC. Support cloud security assessments, remediation efforts, and compliance initiatives. Partner with cybersecurity teams to maintain Azure security and compliance requirements. Help maintain the overall security posture of the Azure environment. Monitor Azure infrastructure health, availability, and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve Azure platform, networking, and infrastructure issues. Participate in incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis. Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks. Provide hands-on support to development and infrastructure teams. Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and enterprise cloud environments. Terraform - Must Have Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines. Strong knowledge of Azure Policy and RBAC. Experience with Azure Networking and cloud infrastructure. Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics. Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage cloud platform issues in an enterprise environment.
Experience Level:
While 5+ years of Azure experience is a guideline, technical depth and relevant hands-on experience are the priority. Candidates with fewer years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong, directly relevant Azure and Terraform expertise. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Azure Landing Zones. Experience with Azure Firewall. Terraform module development. Cloud governance, guardrails, and enterprise standards. Infrastructure as Code best practices. Cloud security fundamentals. Experience supporting enterprise development teams.
Pay:
$68.00 - $72.00 per hour
