: Senior Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer for our Cherry Hill, NJ office. Ideally this person will have at least 5 years of experience and be able to represent themselves in front of a client. This person will serve as a mentor to three younger Systems Engineers.

The Senior Systems Engineer will develop control system designs, deploy and commission PLC code, and create graphical user interfaces. This role will collaborate with other engineering disciplines, providing feedback related to design requirements supporting system functionality. This role also defines and leads system commissioning responsibilities during project implementation phases.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical documents defining system control functionality and operation; including Cause-and-Effect Matrices, Control Narratives, Functional Descriptions.
  • Understand, evaluate and comment on key project documentation such as Piping and Instrument Diagrams (PIDs), Input/Output Lists (I/O), Interconnect Diagrams, Block Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Schematics, Panel arrangement drawings, Datasheets, Bills of Material (BOMs), and Scope of Work packages
  • Support estimates for complex automation system development and system commissioning requirements
  • Support the Project Manager in controlling the scope, schedule, and budget. Additionally, assist with identifying potential changes and mitigating systems/controls related risks
  • Define PLC, HMI and Networking component requirements and perform hardware specification for system control and network compatibility
  • Develop control system designs, develop, deploy, & commission PLC code, and develop HMI graphical user interfaces
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to support control network architecture requirements, design development, and execution
  • Test and emulate code functionality before on-site deployment and testing
  • Develop and later execute Cabinet Hardware Checkout Procedures, Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests.
  • Troubleshoot PLC code, HMI interface, and electrical equipment functionality on-site during commissioning and testing activities including PID and control loop tuning
  • Provide operational support by trouble shooting, diagnosing and solving problems on installed control systems
  • Perform reviews of complex customer standards, specifications, and other documentation to determine system requirements
  • Mentor other systems engineers technically and professionally
