Job Description
Columbia Helicopters, Inc. Systems Engineer Systems Engineer For over 65 years, Columbia Helicopters have been a trusted provider of heavy-lift helicopter services. We create new aircraft, fly heavy-lift helicopters around the world, and provide maintenance support to ensure you are mission-ready for critical operations. The Systems Engineer is responsible for leading systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle in support of helicopter development, systems integration, and system modifications across CHI platforms. Engages with internal and external stakeholders to capture, develop, and publish system requirements; develop system architectures and design solutions; and support integration, verification, and validation activities. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) throughout system development and implementation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Capture, analyze, and develop system requirements (25%). Develop system architectures and end‑to‑end technical solutions (15%). Create system specifications, including interface control specifications (15%). Collaborate with Technical Project Leadership to conduct trade studies and feasibility analyses for potential solutions (10%). Act as a Subject Matter Expert to development and integration teams (10%). Develop verification and validation plans, criteria, and test procedures, including acceptance testing for system deliverables (10%). Define, coordinate, and support system integration and test activities at the system, system‑of‑systems, and platform levels (10%). Provide technical leadership on assigned projects and serve as the technical point of contact (5%). Conduct all work in accordance with the Company's Core Values. Perform other duties as assigned.WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the aviation industry. Prior experience in a Systems Engineering role preferred. Experience working under ARP4754A and/or ARP4761 preferred. Basic understanding of FAA certification processes, including 14 CFR Parts 21, 29, and 43. Strong technical and analytical skills, including logical and critical thinking. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences, internal and external. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and customers. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
