Description In Apple's Platform Architecture team, we are looking for a forward-thinking System Power Architect to drive our next generation SoC power solutions. In this highly influential role, you will be leading engineers across the company to design and deliver power solutions that leverage our best ideas across the full spectrum of Apple products. Responsibilities Define next-generation integrated PMICs and power converters to support Apple SoCs. Work with SoC architects, system engineers, and design teams to architect the next-generation power delivery solutions. Analyze and compare solutions, and then drive team insights and architecture forward into system implementation, SoC silicon, and power delivery silicon. Work with product teams to anticipate use case battery life and performance and thermal impact. Drive next-generation power delivery developments with implementation and design teams. Conduct feasibility studies and work with development teams to deliver solutions. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Professional experience developing application-specific Power Management ICs (PMICs) and power converters. Industry experience with modern System-on-Chip (SoC) power delivery. Experience working with various power delivery components such as: multiphase buck and boost converters, PMICs, LDOs, charge pumps, ADCs, and DACs. Preferred Qualifications M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. 20 years relevant industry experience. Familiarity with the low-power, wearable product space. Deep understanding of power state management, power and performance tradeoffs, throttling techniques, and thermal constraints. Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build consensus between multiple independent teams at a large scale. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Experience conducting feasibility studies for power architecture implementations. Track record of driving power delivery developments from concept through final implementation. Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $216,200 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
