The environment includes Windows servers, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualization, networking and a mixture of cloud and on-premise infrastructure. Some systems are established and stable; others are being upgraded or moved to newer platforms. We need someone who is comfortable working across both. The Environment You'll be working with technologies such as: Windows Server | Active Directory | Microsoft 365 | Azure | VMware/Hyper-V | PowerShell | TCP/IP | DNS | DHCP | VPNs | Backup & Recovery You don't need to be an expert in every technology above, but you should already have solid systems administration or infrastructure experience. What Lands on Your Desk This isn't a ticket-heavy help desk position. Your time will be split between keeping existing infrastructure reliable and working on improvements.

Typical work includes:

Managing Windows Server and Active Directory environments Supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure services Maintaining virtual servers and infrastructure Monitoring system health, storage, backups and performance Managing user access, permissions and security policies Troubleshooting server, network and connectivity issues Installing, configuring and upgrading infrastructure Supporting backup, recovery and business continuity processes Applying patches and coordinating planned maintenance Automating routine administration with PowerShell where practical Maintaining technical documentation and system records Working with external vendors when specialist support is required There will also be project work around infrastructure upgrades, migrations, security improvements and replacing older systems. The Person We Need We're looking for someone with 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems administration, infrastructure engineering or a similar IT position . You should be able to troubleshoot problems independently, explain technical issues clearly and know when something needs escalating. Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 is important. Exposure to Azure, virtualization, networking and PowerShell would be particularly useful. A degree isn't essential if you have the relevant hands-on experience. A Few Practical Details This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM . Most maintenance is completed during normal working hours, although occasional out-of-hours work may be required for major upgrades or planned maintenance. This is scheduled in advance wherever possible.
