We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Nerdio Manager, and Microsoft Intune . This role will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing Azure-based virtual desktop and endpoint environments. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Azure infrastructure and end-user computing technologies and understands how identity, networking, security, endpoint management, automation, and profile management work together to deliver a reliable Azure Virtual Desktop environment. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, implement Azure and AVD best practices, automate repetitive tasks, and continuously improve the performance, security, scalability, and cost efficiency of the environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
• Build and maintain AVD host pools, session hosts, workspaces, application groups, and RemoteApps.
• Manage both pooled and personal desktop environments.
• Troubleshoot AVD session connectivity, authentication, application, profile, and performance issues.
• Monitor session host CPU, memory, disk, network latency, user density, and overall platform performance.
• Configure and troubleshoot FSLogix profile containers , including storage, permissions, exclusions, profile sizing, and performance.
• Implement AVD scaling and capacity-management strategies.
• Configure and troubleshoot RDP Shortpath and other AVD connectivity technologies.
• Perform root-cause analysis for recurring AVD performance and availability issues. Nerdio Manager
• Administer and support Nerdio Manager for Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
• Configure and maintain Nerdio host pools, desktop images, scaling plans, scripted actions, and policies.
• Configure and optimize Nerdio auto-scaling to balance user performance and Azure consumption costs.
• Perform image updates, session-host deployments, and environment maintenance through Nerdio.
• Maintain standardized Nerdio configurations and operational procedures. Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Management
• Administer Microsoft Intune for Windows endpoint and AVD management.
• Create and maintain configuration profiles, compliance policies, security baselines, application deployments, and device policies.
• Manage Windows enrollment and provisioning processes. Azure Infrastructure
• Deploy, configure, and support Azure infrastructure supporting AVD and other cloud workloads.
• Manage Azure Virtual Networks, subnets, NSGs, routing, DNS, Private Endpoints, and related networking technologies.
• Understand hybrid connectivity technologies including VPN and ExpressRoute.
• Manage Azure storage services used for FSLogix and other application workloads.
• Work with Microsoft Entra ID for authentication, Conditional Access, group management, and identity integration.
• Configure monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights where appropriate.
• Assist with Azure resource optimization and cost-management initiatives. Required Qualifications
• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop or equivalent enterprise virtual desktop technologies.
• Hands-on experience administering Nerdio Manager for Enterprise or Nerdio Manager for MSP .
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune .
• Strong knowledge of FSLogix profile management .
• Strong Windows 10/11 and Windows Server administration experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC, and identity management.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking including VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, DNS, VPN, and Private Endpoints.
• Experience troubleshooting Windows and AVD performance issues. Preferred Certifications

The engineer should be equally comfortable building a new AVD environment, troubleshooting a poorly performing session host, diagnosing an FSLogix issue, deploying policies through Intune, configuring Nerdio auto-scaling, and investigating Azure networking or identity problems .

Pay:

$105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
